Shattuckite is a relatively rare copper silicate mineral, first identified in Arizona and named after the Shattuck Mine where it was discovered. It forms in the oxidised zones of copper deposits and is often found alongside other copper minerals such as Malachite, Chrysocolla and Azurite. Namibia is particularly well known for producing beautiful Shattuckite specimens, including the distinctive botryoidal and textured formations seen in these pieces.
