This Green Optical Calcite has a beautiful soft, almost icy green tone with lovely translucency and a more natural, lightly textured finish. Internal veils and cleavage lines create subtle flashes as the piece catches the light.

Optical Calcite is a transparent variety of calcium carbonate, famous for its double-refraction effect. The delicate green colour is caused by trace elements or mineral inclusions present as the calcite forms.
