Diamond Calcite Specimens from Maharashtra, India

Diamond Calcite is a collector’s name given to exceptionally clear, highly lustrous Calcite crystals whose brilliant reflective faces can give them an almost diamond-like sparkle. Maharashtra is particularly famous for its mineral specimens, with the volcanic rocks of the Deccan Traps producing cavities where Calcite and other minerals have crystallised over millions of years.

These specimens feature beautifully defined clear to milky crystals, with some displaying striking larger crystal formations amongst smaller clustered growth.
